In business your brand is the promise of what you say about your company, what you offer and how effectively you deliver on that promise. Your brand goes far beyond your logo, media advertisements and business cards…it's delves into the unique philosophy of your company/organization.
If a company advertises a superb experience, great customer service, or an excellent sale price, and the consumer feels they haven't received what was promised, you have compromised the integrity of your brand.
One of my favorite experiences with a company that works hard to maintain the integrity of their brand is Nordstrom®. When I walk in the store whether to purchase sportswear or skin care, the experience is the same. I experience excellent customer service, am always received as one of their most important customers and leave with my purchase in a bag I'm proud to walk through the mall carrying.
Remember your brand is your reputation, your promise and how the customer perceives their experience with you, whether real or imagined. Keep your promise!
